Anyone heard from Rosemary esoR?

I don't come on the site here much anymore, but just checked in and thought I'd see some news of her.

I don't know if there's anyone still active here who knew her or who corresponded with her here. I never wnated to believe there was nothing to be done for her, and she definitely was betrayed in various ways by the medical profession. I found her obituary on the net just now. This is very sad and I am so sorry she was forced to give up.

She was trying to get into hospice. I see she made it. I hope the end went well. So much didn't :(

This is so sad. Her posts always broke my heart. And she was always afraid she was going to die from all her troubles. Wow, I can't believe it. RIP Rosemary. :(

This was really hard to read. It seemed like anything that could go wrong did go wrong for her. I had no idea she was so young. I hope she was comfortable at the end and I pray that in the future more can be done for people with similar problems. Adhesions are a real bear.

That is heartbreaking to read. I am so sorry she couldn't find someone that could solve her problems.

May she finally be pain free and rest in peace.

Rosemary was a friend of mine that I met on this forum several years ago. She helped me immensely when I first got my stoma.

She did check herself into hospice and I haven't heard from her in a couple of weeks. I assume she is gone :(

She can have some peace now.

Answers, I am sorry for your loss. She was always ready and willing to help out with advice.

I feel very sad for her and how it ended for her.

Oh, this is so sad. Really really sad. I'm so sorry she passed away; she tried very hard to get her health problems solved; I assumed her absence meant that she had found some relief.

Sue, yes. Me and Lizzie are pretty sure she is gone :(

We usually hear from her every few days. She started getting fuzzy on the morphine. I hope she is comfortable and at peace and dancing in heaven with God..

While the last few years were tragic, frustrating and very hard for her.....reading her obituary makes it obvious that she led a full and productive life. Hopefully she now has comfort, peace, and nothing but memories of the better times. Prayers for her and all of her friends and loved ones.

What I find so difficult to cope with is her decision to end her life. I can't think of any word to describe it.

How very sad. Some people were very compassionate re: Rosemary's issues, others were skeptical and all but accused her of exaggerating - medical professionals as well as online/real life friends. On her facebook page dated March 20, she writes about having one real life friend who didn't abandon her - I am glad for her that she had at least that.

RIP, Rosemary.

ETA: Thanks, B'Dereh, for letting us know. I had been thinking about her and checking online periodically for just this type of dreadful news sad .

Well, yes and no. She could have been kept alive. She chose not to. Would it have been 'living', I can't say.

Somedude, she decided not to continue living that way, and checked herself into a place where nothing more is done to keep you alive, and they make you very comfortable while you are dying.

Somebody told me about this on the UC board. I wish I could go back in time and email Rosemary to let her know I was still thinking about her, that I still cared. I desperately wanted to see her last stoma revision go well for her; instead she found out she had short gut syndrome. Good god, the medical profession really fumbled the ball with this poor woman; and no doctor involved will ever be held accountable.

RIP Rosemary. I couldn't have changed anything, but I'm so sorry I didn't keep in touch :(

The past couple of years were pure hell for her. Now she's in heaven, an angel for us all!!! She will always be remembered and have a special place in my heart!

It breaks my heart that we lost her. When I first came to this forum she was kind and helpful to me. I tried to keep in contact with her but hadn't heard from her for about two months.
