Oh no, you all misunderstand. I am out of surgery now and in my apartment. I am playing it safe and sticking to shakes I make with a nutri bullet using protein powder, yogurt, fruit, peanut butter, etc. I ate applesauce, jello, and the lemon ice slush things they give you in the hospital as well as chicken and eggs no problem. I am just alone in my apartment right now and want to give my intestines some time and play it safe before introducing things like chicken, eggs, rice, potatoes, well cooked spinach, ripe avocados, etc. I made the mistake of being too aggressive when I first had my ileostomy put in place 2 years ago and ended up back in the hospital ofr another week:P
What I meant was is how long after you left the hospital until the bowels were back up to normal speed. My intestines are awake, but stuff is still inflamed and not fully functioning since my surgery was this past wednesday. My recollection of my other surgeries is that things were a bit slow at first, then they picked up speed as time went on (with a vengance lol)!
