Just wondering if anyone has recommendations for learning the more technical or medical side to having an ostomy? It looks like it will still be several months before I have surgery, and I'm just trying to learn more about all this. The basics even. I did find a book at the library about ostomies and it seems pretty good, but it's from 2008. I don't know how much has changed.
Are there certain websites that are better than others? I have searched online before, but there is so much to sort through and I figure there must be a few sites that are really good. I am set up to go to Mayo Clinic the first week of August for further testing and to determine what parts will be left in and what will be taken out. I have a mentor who is wonderful. I would like to find a site with more pictures of what all the equipment looks like and how it's all put on, etc.
Ok, have to go. Thought I could eat some leftover italian food but now I'm extremely nauseous.
Any recommendations for getting info etc, would really be appreciated.
Thanks,
Sunny.
