Naked Shower

Woo hoo!! It's a great feeling, isn't it?! I never realized how good it feels to be totally nekkid until I wasn't able to be most of the time! :)

Someday I will be bold and try this.

Naked showers can be so, so nice! If I time it right, I don't have any problems with my stoma outputting while I'm in there.

In case you are not aware, the shower drain is connected to the toilet drain, the bathtub drain and the basin drain before they leave the house in one common drain, so don't fuss about a little output if it happens.

Also, on change day only, I use an old ostomy belt and a clear 3 lb. bag I buy at the party store (100 bags $3.00) to make a temp pouch while drying off and cleaning the shower etc. I cut the ring from a pouch at the end of its cycle, and put the neck of the plastic bag through it and use the belt hooked to the ring to hold it in place. It works great!

I shower naked with every bag change, I love it. I feel like I can get the skin good and clean, then I come out dry off well and put a new fresh bag on.

If I get some output (I usually dont) so what it goes down the drain...meh

Oooo, I'd love to try a naked shower.. Maybe in a couple months when my new stoma isn't swollen and I know when its quiet times are more likely... Sounds like it could be refreshing... Or just very messy!! :P

I do the commando shower for every wafer change too... Does wonders for helping blast off old goo around my stoma -- i help out with a few gentle shoves with my finger nails and let the stuff go down the drain along with any poop if I happen to have had late night snacks before bed. I really have few issues any more changing if my stoma is active, other than that I go through a few wads of paper towels as i change and dry then, vs just one or two paper towels if my stoma is quiet as it usually is when I do a change. (Usually when I plan on my once oer 4-5 day wafer change the next morning, I refrain from my usual habit of a late night bedtime snack the night before and thus after a wakeup emptying, all is quiet).

Every time I have a little output in the shower and start to get grossed out, I remind myself how many times I've crapped my pants and had to jump in the shower to clean up. Same thing.

I sure don't miss crapping in my pants or that horrible urgency followed by the frantic run for the toilet!

It's not a problem getting output while I'm in the shower, it's the bit between getting out of the shower and getting the new bag on that can be messy.

I generally take a pile of gauze and cover the stoma to catch any leakage, it bys some time to get the new bag ready

what about bagging up while you're still standing in the shower ? another blast and all spruced up !

Zero chance if bagging in the shower, my skin needs to be ultra dry before applying the new bag, the adhesive I use is water soluble as well, so definitely won't happen.

It's not a problem as long as I shower/bag in the mornings before I eat anything.
