For women post proctectomy question

Hi Ladies,

This is a sensitive topic/question but don't know where else to ask. I've just had intercourse for the first time since my proctectomy in January. It was ok during, but now - afterwards I'm having a lot of pressure and pain in my rectal area..or where it used to be. Have any of you had this experience? Why does it happen?

about a month and a half - two months after surgery we tried to have sex - it was okay at first but then it just got to be too much! I was actually trying to hide my crying cuz my husband has been horribly deprived of sex in our young marriage. But I guess a crying wife is a turn off :P

Luckily some liquid courage had me feeling naughty another month later and we did it in the woods on a camping trip! lol.

I felt a bit crampy and achey not the next day, but the day after that. And of course my vagina was sore cuz the poor thing has had no use for too darn long!
But not like the first time we tried, that was definitely my parts still settling inside of me and not appreciating a foreign part trying to get in there too.

I'm hoping our next adventure will be sober and delightful with little cramping or pain afterwards... and especially not during! That would be great.

I agree. I have found that some positions cause uncomfortable pressure now, where others are just fine. And that is still after a year. So, we just experimented and found what works! I, too, think it's the shift in anatomy. If it continues for a while, I would definitely ask your doctor about it.
