@$#%$#@ I think i have a hernia

OK when i got up this morning I was a little sore at the bottom of my belly just right underneith the scar from the drain tube.  I can feel a knot there.  Is this a hernia??? i hope not !!! and if it is , is there anything that can be done besides surgery?  i dont even want to deal with this,  I am sooo dang sick of dr.s . plus my husband just got out of the hospital yesterday from having surgery on his ankle. he's gonna be laid up for about a month.   uuurrrggg!!!  has anyone else had this happen?  it been four month since i had my total colectomy.

Oh Cindy you have already helped by giving me some hope that i might not be doomed for another surgery. haha,   i'm gotta make me an apt with my GI, he's only about an hour and a half away where my surgery in 4 hours away, and with school i dont have any free days and i cant miss class becuse I'm not smart enough to figure out physics on my own. 

Dont feel bad for forgetting,  I balme my memory loss on all the meds I used to be on, hahaha, any thing to avoid amitting getting old!!!!  even young peeps have brain farts.

Please let me know if you remember, hopefully I have what you had !

Hi, TJane!  It doesn't sound like a hernia to me.  I have a peristomal hernia and I got it when I coughed too hard about 11 months after surgery.  I've had the hernia now for 15 years.  Anyway, when I coughed, I felt the muscle tear and the pain nearly took my breath away.  I KNEW what had just happened.  You might just have a muscle spasm so there is a knot in the muscle.  Maybe try to gently massage the area.  Take a warm shower or bath and relax with a cup of tea.  Getting yourself upset doen't help anything and just makes things worse.    Have it checked out to be sure but it sure doesn't sound like what I have.
