Please need support advice ..pelvic floor dysfunction, slow motility and temp ileostomy

I have had the worse year of my life health wise... I've always had stomach problems, ibs-c and biliary problems. This year it got progressively worse... I have no life, can barely work, lay on the couch all day and cry...I am 42, married with two great kids but my pain and nausea is overwhelming! I have severe spasms of the pelvic floor according to my last exam and very slow colon motility. I take stool softness and senna daily but still cannot fully eliminate. I cannot pass gas which causes terrible pain, along with the pressure in my rev rum of stool. The stool is soft but the spasms will not let me expell it... It's debilitating, I spend 3 hours in the morning trying to go to the bathroom and ultimately wind up doing a liquid suppository which still doesn't get all the stool out. I've just returned from my second colorectal doctor who also suggested a temporary ileostomy. I am so scared it will not help...at that's point I don't care about the vanity part or maintenance I just want to have some quality of life and not be sick. Please does anyone have advice? Anyone here with an ostomy due to pfd or motility issues? Any success stories... I'm so desperate please help!!

My son is now 13 years old, he has a temp ileostomy for the past 16 months for slow transit constipation. It has made a huge difference to the quality of his life. Before surgery he would hardly pass any stool even on large amounts of stool softening medications. He would become so impacted that he would have to go under anaesthesia every 3 months for a cleanout. He was lethargic, stunted growth, lack of appetite and a huge big tummy. He was unable to attend school because he had so many sick days and soiling.
Since having had his ileostomy he is a new kid! Firstly he started to grow and has a huge appetite. He is on no medication, he has so much energy, plays numerous sports and has a new lease on life! We didn't wish for him to have an ileostomy as I was unsure how he would cope and how it would effect his confidence, but it ended up being emergency surgery and so there was no choice. But seeing the difference it has made to his life is truly remarkable. He copes with his stoma so well, it has been easier to manage than the constipation. Good luck, I hope this helps. It sounds like you may as well go the temp ileo route- it's bound to be better than your current situation! There have been posters who've gotten ileo's for similar reasons, although lately it seems like most are IBD patients. Seeing as 2 doctors have recommended the ileo, I'd go for it.

I have had similar issues and getting AMAZING relief from my inter-vaginal trigger point therapy. She works on on the very tight muscles in my pelvic floor. I also use the TheraWand to help my pelvic floor as well. I also take epsom salt baths frequently.

I take magnesium oxide each night, anywhere from 500 - 1000 mg. Depends on my bowels. I take a water enema - about every second week to clean out the lower bowel.

I try to drink lots of water, and am studying my posture. If you are tucking your pelvic floor under, this can cause more problems. Look at Pelvienne Wellness as they have lots of good articles.

My Super Tight stomach muscles were causing me to be nauseous and feel acidic all the time. Consider look at that as well.
