Kari7 - I'm the "illusion of choice" guy. Glad you remembered it, maybe I should trademark the phrase!
I want to wish you luck with your surgery next week. Yes it is scary, but you've been through so much in the last 14 years. This is just one more thing. And it likely will be the thing that changes your life for the better - much better. It did for me and for so many others on this site.
Here's my quick tips on what to expect, based on my experiences with 2
open bowel surgeries:
Week 1: Feel like death, but heavily drugged
Week 2: Out of hospital, still feel like death, less drugs
Week 3: Weak, but don't need drugs
Week 4: Gaining strength, I can eat and I'm hungry!
Week 5: Back at work! I have a life again!!!
P.S. I'm married to a clinical psychologist. What is with you guys' obsession with statistics and studies? I hear the phrase "show me the data" on a daily basis, regarding just about
anything, even the dinner order.
