Hey Pink!
I had a temporary ileostomy that just got reversed a week ago. It is very bright red and meaty looking if it is healthy. There were a lot of different shapes to mine and I did not have an obvious hole. There were many dips and grooves, but you can tell where the stool comes out if you look at it. You will be able to see from which part of the stoma the contents comes out. I am unfimiliar with SIBO, but I wouldn't worry about
gas being trapped. When I had mine, gas would flow just fine. It even makes the sound sometimes as gas passes. Sometimes my bag would just fill completley with air because of the gas and id have to "burp" it. So, even though I am unfimiliar with SIBO, I don't think you'll have to worry about
gas being trapped, at least for me it wasn't!
Hopefully there is someone on here more familiar with SIBO that can answer your question better! Wishing you the best!
