Question about spray-on adhesive......

There was another thread that convinced me to buy some. I thought it would help wear time by letting me put a little on the edges of the appliance when they begin to loosen. I've been putting tape on the edges for years.  But, right on the can it says not to apply it directly to the skin. So my questioin is.....does it really matter if you put it directly on your skin???

it's supposed to over time cause cancer- or possibly cause it- I've used it for nearly 30 years on my skin htough figuring that a secure pouch is more important to me than whether or not I eventually get cancer=-
