Increase frequency of stomach flu after surgeries?

Greetings all! It's been a while since i posted but want to find out if this is connected to my surgeries. I had my 1st surgery in 2012 where my entire colon was removed but not my anal stump. Was having complication so the anal stump was removed in 2013. Surgery was due to UC.

Since then the only sickness I seem to catch is a stomach like flu. Today I am again home sick and this is the third month in a row! It starts out with just feeling ooky/blah and end up with an intense headache or low grade fever. The headache get so bad that I vomit. My stomach feel a bit sour but its not very noticeable. So I'm not sure if it the stomach casing the headache or visa versa.

Also my stool are looser and mustard color.

I take Advil. My migraine meds don't do anything for this. No medicine have ever bee prescribed. I just go on a BRAT diet and three days later I'm feeling better. The sickness does peak and I do tend to sleep alot out of one of those three days.

Has anyone had this cycle? Maybe my gut floral is still adjusting after surgery. My job has been stressful in the past but has slowed down to a normal pace several weeks ago. The only change I had to my schedule was getting up an hour earlier for a workshop. I only has 7 hours of sleep. I normally get 8 and I sleep well.

Please share any similar experiences you may have.

I have migrant meds but they don't work for this. I did just take my temperature. It's 99.5 f. Also forgot to mention that my stool are looses and sometimes a mustard yellow color....hence the diagnosis of stomach flu. Going to the doc today. Maybe they need to contact my surgeons office to get more information.

Just came from the doctors. Getting blood and stool work done. It cant be a migraine is I have low grade fever. Hopefully the UC didn't change into CD. Seem to be happening more frequent now.

I never had fevers with my UC....and my stools aren't bloody. All I can do is hope for the best

UC does not change to Crohn's. If you got a Crohn's diagnosis it just means that you were misdiagnosed.

Dr. Bo Shen at Cleveland Clinic believes that the trauma of surgery can trigger Crohn's Disease to develop. Whether a person in that situation technically has both UC and Crohn's, or their UC has turned into Crohn's, is mainly semantics. The point is, at least one leading researcher does believe that post-surgery Crohn's is not always due to an initial misdiagnosis.

Well got my test result. White Blood Cells were seen in my stool! Seem to be associated with UC and CD. :(

Could use some positive thoughts! GI appt isn't until May 11th.
