Sunny, I can relate, even though our problems are different. I have gastroparesis, which is a slow digestive system basically. Could you have that now? They did a test where I ate radioactive oatmeal and took pictures of it leaving my stomach.
I have major thyroid issues, graves disease, and took a radioactive iodine pill in December, and I still have crazy thyroid numbers. My doctor is baffled. I said, well, it's me and nothing can be straight forward with me.
I also have bipolar 2 and take seroquel for that.
I have an ileostomy due to colonic inertia and pelvic floor dysfunction. The doctor said only about 1-2% of the population has these issues, therefore, not a lot of research going on.
I am in the hospital myself with a blockage. It has been a nightmare. They think it could just be swelling from my surgery also. Having a slow digestion system is not an easy thing to have.
Why didn't they give you an ileostomy if you have slow digestion? What do you take to get the colostomy to work? Not sure what you mean about it making you have a lot of output, but my ileostomy puts out roughly 500-1500cc of fluid everyday. You can go and do with the output.. Just make sure you take Devrom for the odor, or put m9 drops in the bag to cut down on odors, then you can empty anywhere.
And having a hysterectomy can make you feel down and depressed until they get your hormones right. Are you on hormones yet?
