My partner had his op 6 weeks ago, and is still sore in the abdomin and gets worse at night, with tightness and pain on his scar moving to his left side. WE are wondering if this is just the healing process or not. Does anyone else feel like this?

I wouldnt worry about it just yet. I would say that it is just the healing process. You have to give these things time, and also everyones situation is different. As long as he isnt trying to do too much too quickly then he will probably start to feel things getting easier very soon. Is he due for a post op check with the Doctor? Mine was at 6 weeks. He can discuss any worries that he has then.

Thanks Sue, he has a follow up appointment with Gastro doctor in two weeks time. It's just the pain gets him down, but hopefilly it is him healing inside.

Hello again.
If he is still getting alot of pain even when just sitting down watching tv etc, then maybe a call to the Doctor wouldnt go amiss,it might be that all he needs is his pain medication to be changed. if the pain is more on movement then maybe he is just trying to do too much too soon.

Hi...I'm 35 days post -op...and I can say that I have alot of pain..so I'm sure that pain is very real for your partner..as I have huge pain also...the surgeon thinks it's in my head but my Gastro knows me better and understands and considering all that I had done I should and will have pain for many more days a head...Make sure that you have someone address this pain cause maybe the meds need to be change..I had to have mine change three times in order to have relieve...Good Luck!
And keep your chin up....
