12 days post of, my ostomy is still my enemy

Have you tried convex? Is the stoma short? Is it odd shaped? Mine is a perfect circle but it only protrudes .5 inches or less. If i don't wear convex, output leaks right under the wafer. Is that the type of leak you're having? Even with a ring, it would go under for me with flat. Mine is usually least active around noon. If I change then, I could have zero output and really spend time getting my skin cleaned up, take a shower nude, barrier, powder, perfectly cut wafer... If I do it early AM or late night, I have to rush because it could be active. This morning I changed and it was active and I was so lazy I didn't feel like cutting anything so I used a precut. It was lovely. I didn't even have to think about anything, just a little powder and plopped in on, connected bag :) It was great. Thankful that my dear friend embersglow sent me the precuts. You can't do precut for at least 6 weeks. It actually doesn't make sense for us because we will have a loop in a few months and it will probably be a different size. It makes sense for us to buy cut-to-fit... You could try the convatec moldable, those work for all shapes and sizes. I have great luck with their wafers, but they are big, and hurt when you pull them off.

Yes, mine is always spitting and sputtering first thing in the morning. It always does better if I wait until around 11 or 12 in the afternoon or about an hour or so after eating a meal. I'm not like most people though. Try to monitor it and see when he is being quiet.

i think I may have to start revisiting the anxiety forum as I have been so distraught/upset over this, I have had panic attacks 2-3 times a day the last 4 with a major one just occurring now at 10PM. I had to take Xanax, thought I was going to have to go into the ER for it. sorry my venting sounds selfish, self absorbed. Many people are going through greater problems in life, but i am miserable

not so sickly: I forgot to add something to my UC post. When the doctor cut me, he was amazed at how thick all my internal musculature was and he was able to make the Jpouch. He told me I was such an easy surgery. I don't know how I forgot to retell that on that post. i can edit it.

To all: they put on a convex wafer with the ring being built up. The stoma was placed far to close to my wound and there is a dimple or small crease right next to it. Her solution was to cut the wafer down so not to overlap the wound. I am producing so much waste that it seeps into the lower left and leaks out. If i bend over to do anything, it start to leak

that's great. If you have the pouch built, you're 2 months of misery to the reconnection. 2 months will go by quickly
