After J Pouch Take Down Question

My surgeon said it can take up to a year to be 100% with your pouch. Sometimes I have some pressure in my rectum, especially with gas. In the beginning, I didn't know it was gas and I would get nervous and rush to the bathroom. Now I am able to tell the difference. Is yours ever gas? I have had urges but I can always put them off. I know what you mean about having it come on strong and needing a second, then after that I can wait hours... but I could see waiting a second in a boxing class being awkward. Overall, things have gradually been improving for me since takedown, mine was in November. I think we need to b patient.

Thanks for the replies. I understand being patient, this 3 stage surgery for me has been over a year. I just wasn't sure if the act of hitting a tennis ball or shadow boxing would cause me to feel like I'm going to use the bathroom on myself. I can now tell the difference from gas vs using the bathroom. I did the same with going to the toilet every time. Now i sleep on my side at night to help with passing gas, and not having to get up and go to the rest room.
