Rectum pain/sensation after step 2

Yes, very common for the pain and mucus, especially the first week or two. The pain will go away but mucus will continue but might be less of an amount.

I just had my step 2 about 13 days ago. In the hospital, the days following my surgery when I could sit on the toilet I discharged a lot of dark and bright red liquid blood. In the days at home recovering, I've been discharging mucus-y tidbits rectally too, but way less than the pouring of liquid that was in the hospital. My discharge started off darker and is slowly lightening up a tiny bit. Regarding pain, I have a slight tenderness in that area, I hope you are not having more severe pain?

Right after surgery (the first week or so I'd say) you can expect blood. I'm 2 weeks out and my daily discharge is more mucusy-brown now. If you're having blood for longer, I'd ask your Dr if you can - not because it may be abnormal, but they'd probably know better! Mine told me to expect some blood at first and regular discharge until my reversal.
