The only thing that has caused me a ~leak

I still haven't had a 'leak' (fingers crossed) but have found out that I will get infiltration between the skin and barrier (aka the beginnings of a leak) if...

...my pouch fills with gas and becomes a balloon while I'm asleep and I don't wake up, the barrier separates a little bit and the infiltration begins. This has happened to me twice since my surgery 3.5 months ago. Now I know that if I wake up with that situation, I will need to keep a close eye on things and change sooner rather than later.

I have kept detailed notes on my (sometimes too frequent) changes for the first two months and no other thing has caused the beginnings of a leak.

I agree *now* with the change it sooner than later mindset, only because of trial by fire. I have had so many times where I blamed itching on "it's just the adhesive" and ended up with a major leak only a few minutes later. If I even sorta think there is a leak I am going to change my bag and quit worrying about running out of supplies. I have gained some weight and noticed I have started to eat more acidic foods. I have begun to have leakage problems and I am doing everything that people say will help...using barrier rings, lubricating deodorant, making sure I have a good fit on my wafer, changing before bed, setting an alarm etc.
Any *additional* help would be great. Usually when it leaks it seems like things are backing up at the top of the bag right where the stoma is and start leaking out from the side of the wafer. It doesn't seem to want to go down the bag.
