Thanks for the update! I have been without my ileo for quite a while, but I still remember what I liked. I did like the hollister actually. I feel like they all have their pluses and minuses. I wish I could take all the elements I liked and put them into one "master" product. I loved hollister because the tail end is long and it'ss easy to keep clean (BUT sometimes impossible to open!). I also love hollister wafers. I always wore the 2 piece. I would swap the pouch sometimes and leave the wafer, you can't do that with one piece. I didn't take to the adhesive connected pouches because they were too hard to swap a pouch, you also can't burp them (though I had a lot of problems burping because it's risky). I loved convatec because the moldable wafer is great. No Scissors needed. I also liked the size of their pouch. it was shorter and folded up. Coloplast, I love the closure. I also love the mio, the grey color and the texture of the pouch. Such a great product. The problem is that they didn't make it in convex when I had my ileo and i needed convex because I had a very short stoma. I tried it a few times and always had a leak, however, I loved the pouches. I didn't like their wafers, the hard plastic never did it for me. The hollister wafer, for me, was perfect, I wore the smallest, and they are soft and flexible. It works so good for me, that I forgave all the issues I had with the pouch itself. I loved the lock and roll, but I wish it folded up to shorten the pouch overall. If you don't fold it, it hangs low... The happy medium can be the convatec, but the wafer is HUGE. I used to cut them down to a circle. You will find what you like. I ended up stick with hollister most of the time. They also make a mini pouch that I used when I swam or went out. I popped on different pouches a lot with my end ileo. With my loop, I literally couldn't even pop a new bag on without a problem so I would just do my best to get through the day with that thing. The end ileo was fun because I felt in control. I learned very quickly and I was able to play around, try different things, have confidence again... That's a lot to gain after years of worrying abotu toilets.
I am happy you're doing so well. So many people here have a lot more experience with various products compared to me. ask if you have any questions. I was able to get some samples from a company in England called Salts, and, I LOVED their products. They wafer is like a little gel circle but the pouch is like a coloplast, smalls and has velcro side closures, folds up, but it's petite. Really fun trying stuff. I kind of hated that I missed out on trying the Mio convex. So funny that i am bitter about that.
