Oh wow Tracy, so sorry you are still having problems too!!! Actually, since I last posted, I have been doing better. I am taking sitz baths with Epsom salts and inserting about 1/3 of a Cort suppository nightly. I also use Calmoseptine around the area. I really believe my present surgeon worsened my condition by constant probing inside. I decided that I am going to cancel my next appointment with him, which is August 17th and if I start to have any more problems, I am going to the head of the colorectal department at Cooper Health Systems in Camden, NJ, Dr. McClane. I went to him for my second opinion and he does agree with my present surgeon, that it would be too much of an operation for me. Apparently, it isn't as easy as one might think to remove the anus. Since my original surgeon is retired, the new one doesn't know what he would bump up against once inside. I think my original surgeon left the anus because, in his opinion, there are more complications when they remove the anus. He did take the rectum and colon and the rectum was my main problem. All my colon had was minor diverticulosis.
