Surgery recovery time?

So I am planning on making my ileostomy permanent soon and I'm wondering about the recovery time. I had my colectomy in March 2013 but still have some of my rectum because the original plan was get a j-pouch but I am so used to the ostomy and feel so good I don't want to risk more surgeries and pain and medications etc.

So I'm wondering how long it took fellow permanent ostomates to get back on your feet? And not just when you went back to work but got feeling close to 100%. I am thinking of having my surgery in January but am also getting married in September and am wondering if that is enough time to work with.

I had mine done all at once so I can't speak to just having your rectum and anus removed. But I had my total proctocolectomy in March which was a huge surgery, plus I was very ill and I feel fine to get married this month!

I actually just did two vacations back to back without an issue. I felt like I had my full energy back by end of 4 months so I would think since you already had the colectomy that January would give you plenty of time.

Hopefully someone who had the second part separate will chime in!

I had a total proctocolectomy with a permanent ileostomy in December of 2015. I was back to doing 99% of my normal activities by late winter and definitely felt 100% or close to it by the summer.
