Weight lifting ostomate here. I've had my ostomy for a year and three months now. I took it easy for the fist year and then started back seriously this January. I am doing pretty much the same exercises I did prior to surgery with the exception of dead lifts. I wear a hernia belt made for ostomies that has a hole in it to accomodate the bag.
I do a push/pull/legs program with the basic lifts - squats, bench, over head press, rows, etc. plus accesory exercises. I lost a lot of strength but am slowly working on getting back to where I was.

slowly started lifting but still get anxious that I am going to mess things up.
