bag coming loose when in pool

I have been using Coloplast Sensura bags for almost as long as I've had my ileo....almost 7 yrs. We have a small back yard pool, and I am a water bug, but the chlorinated water seems to work my bag loose around the outside. Thank God I use the Eakin seals around the stoma and they adhere pretty well. Any suggestions? BTW....nothing escaped the bag...that would be utterly disgusting!

Sure-Seal rings are the best for anyone who wants to spend time in the water. Sure-Seals are a donut-shaped ring of Tegaderm material. Place the Sure-Seal ring over your ostomy wafer and you are good to go.

Sure-Seal rings are superior to any other Hydra-Pink tape or MicroPore tape.

You can order Sure-Seals through any ostomy supplier. Probably even Amazon.

Christine did you try the Sure Seals?

I was curious because floating in the pool all afternoon does seem harder on my wafer than when we are at the beach and in the ocean. It stays on but just lately after some long pool days I always feel the need to change.

So I ordered the medium Sure Seal with is the square one. I love them! I can't believe how well they work in water. I ordered mine from my supplier but noticed Amazon did have them just at double the cost.

Oh and I also use Coloplast. I use the Mio and it worked really well over my wafer.

I use Sure Seals as well and they have never failed me. Has anyone used an ostomy swim wrap? I'm looking at them and wondering if they might help when in the pool. They're not waterproof but they hold the bag snug against your body so I'm thinking they might improve wear time if the bag isn't tugging away from you.

I haven't tried any of the swimwraps but I did start wearing a rashguard for added sun protection and I do like how that holds bag closer to me and it doesn't move around in the water.

I've been using the Convatec Cohesive slims (Eakin seals) for several months and if it weren't for them, my bag would be coming off totally. Next time I talk with my supplier, I am going to ask if they have any suggestions (usually the sales rep doesn't know too much though) rolleyes

Living in Florida being in the water is routine. I wear an Ostomy Secret wrap or a Stealthbelt. Enjoy 😎

I also use Ostomy Secrets swim wraps. Been using them for 2 summers. I also use Coloplast barrier strips around my bag to keep it more secure. I wear Coloplast Sensura Mio 2-piece bags. I have swam in the ocean, swimming pools and hot tubs and have never had a problem!
