So soon after surgery, there are a few reasons you could be having bleeding from that area. It is very normal to feel like you have to go and to pass mucus from time to time. But, it is also possible that there is still active disease in the remaining rectal stump. Sometimes it is mild and easily treatable, but not always. I had my colon removed about 4 1/2 years ago at the age of 33, and I chose to get a permanent ileostomy instead of Jpouch. I was so sick at the time of surgery that my surgeon felt it would be too hard on my body to remove colon, make ileostomy, remove rectal stump and sew me closed all at the same time, so they left some stump. Eventually I had to get another surgery to have the stump removed and anal closure because UC was still active there. If you have your heart set on a Jpouch I'd suggest speaking with your surgeon and doctor soon to see if it's good to start treating the symptoms you are having now. Good luck!
