Takedown surgery set!

I would imagine the nausea will subside. There must be something going on that is causing it, either dehydration or a partial blockage. I can't imagine you're nauseous for no reason? immediately after surgery, It takes a moment for your bowel to move. There was a short time when I was in the hospital that everyone was telling me to eat, but I was worried it wasn't moving so I was scared to eat. When it starts moving, it may start off slow, but it will get to the point where it's annoying. For me, I remember I didn't have much capacity at first. I would go for a walk and have to get home to go. I was also nervous, didn't know how long I could hold it, didn't know if I could wait, I didn't know what to expect at all. You kind of have to feel it out. Some people adapt very quickly, others it takes longer. I think I ate fairly normally since take-down. I know other people have had complications though and ended up in the hospital longer than they imagined. My reconnection took an hour I think. I was out of the hospital 24 hours later. The stoma site was sore for me. I had some troubles with mine healing. I had a suture popping out that was very tender. Eventually it came out and the site healed up.

That’s good to know. My doc did give me zofran formhome. I’m using that now and it’s working okay.

How long did everyone else stay in the hospital? My doc said 2-3 days but only bc they’re waiting for the the bowels to wake up. One day would be a dream!
