I had another obstruction, and wow, was it THE most painful thing ever. I had to take an ambulance to the hospital bc I was alone and in a lot of pain. I even had a panic attack once I got there bc I couldn’t handle the pain, wasn’t sure if I was going to need surgery, etc. they transported me to the other hospital where my surgeon is out of- it is farther distance and the ambulances just took me to the closest hospital.
Anyhow, the fluids did the trick and working the day it was working itself out. They kept me overnight. But not, how do we avoid this? I really watch what I eat. This is my second obstruction. I was in so much pain I told my husband to tell the surgeon to do whatever they need to in order to make me feel better- they can give me my ostomy back, I don’t care!
Had a follow up with the doc last week and she gave me a clean bill of health. I cut down the lomotil and only take 3 pills a day, as needed. Hopefully that’ll help! Any other suggestions?
