sigmoid before 3 rd surgery

I am having my sigmoidoscopy tomorrow for my 3rd surgery. The date has been moved up to Aug 8. Has anyone had them go through the back door to check on the pouch plus the stoma? I was told she is doing both. And I will be lightly sedated. I am thinking of asking for more than just lightly sedated. Been through enough pain.

I've been having a sigmoidoscopy done annually every year for more than 10 years. They always knock me out cold. Works fine for me.

I had the enema xray before my takedown surgery to check for leaks, I didn't have a scope

Tom I'm having one Aug 7th,Dr wanted to do it today without anestesia and i said NO NO NO.Valli how did it go today?

I also had a enema xray. I'm not sure what the point of checking up in there visually would be this early, less they are concerned about Crohn's before takedown.

Not concerned about Crohn's Virdent I think that is what the surgeon recommends.
I asked to be for a knocked out for my sigmoidoscopy and they had no problem the surgeon came into the room and said the test I had last week enema x-ray showed narrowing in the anus so she would have to stretch the inside. They said I would feel a slight discomfort. I found out afterward they gave me extra sedation during the test because they had to insert a balloon inside to stretch it 7mm. I didn't feel a thing I don't remember the car ride home and I slept it off for 4 hours. So overall it wasn't that bad. I had extreme discomfort last night and this morning just popping Tylenol for the pain now. Surgery is booked for Aug 8. turn
