I didn't realize colostomies were noisy. I had a temp ileo and mine could be noisy at times. Most people who have them for longer periods say that the noises improve over time, but he may be able to control it by eating foods that are less gassy. You can also put your hand over the stoma to quiet it, but sure, I can see how it can be uncomfortable to worry about. I personally didn't have too much issue with clothes and the ostomy. He could try wearing a wrap, that might help with noise, and with keeping the pouch flat. I definitely think you should see about getting him to go talk to someone - easier said than done I am aware. Stopping his depression meds alone is enough to throw someone into a tailspin, but in combination with a major surgery, it's a lot to handle. It sounds like you're being very supportive, and that you want to do what's best for him. Maybe you have to take it slow. See if you can get him to go for a drive with you, or walk. Maybe just the two of you at first. It's not easy.
