Hi guys
Anybody still here that uses Friars Balsam compound benzoin tincture? I see where it has been discontinued, and drugs depot doesn't show the Geritrex benzoin compound tincture as available anymore. Any ideas where either can be purchased in the U.S.?

Hi, I use benzoin tincture. I get it from Edgepark a medical supplier and my insurance covers it. However I have also ordered it from amazon. They have many brands. Just make sure you use the kind that only comes off with alcohol not water. It’s not the friars brand but comparable. Hope this helps smile

Hi, Bythe sea, and thank you for the info. I checked Edgepark and they had 3 types of the benzoin, do you mind telling me which type you ordered? I have used Fryars for years and now it is being discontinued from manufacturing, at least according to their website. The generic form is also suddenly not available. I have enough for a couple of months, but I really don't look forward to not being able to find the type that is water proof.

Hi I get the individual pks. They are made by Medical Action Indusries. I really like the brand M9 better but Edgepark doesn’t carry that brand. I may order the M9 from McKesson. They used to carry them but I switched to Edgepark because McKesson didn’t have very good customer service. The McKesson brand comes out easier. The other brand I often have to use two. Hope this helps. Ask anything else. Will answer as soon as I can. I don’t visit this forum everyday. 🙂
