I’m not exactly in your situation in that I have an iliostomy rather than a j-pouch, but have taken part in a wide range of sports since the original operation, including rock climbing and more recently, Cross Fit. I haven’t had any problems but have always taken things slowly. For CrossFit I picked a gym that I thought would be sympathetic to my needs, and they were great about it, they even did some research! The weight lifting and core element I take really easy and never overload the weight or the reps. My body is not overly ‘changed’ but I’m definitely fitter and stronger, and no problems! Hope you find a good gym!
