UNCOMFORTABLE AT SCAR SIGHT

My partner had an Ileostomy in September 2005, and then unfortunately had to have another operation for adhesions in the November, and was in hospital for 5 weeks after it with complications, one being abcesses, which he had to have drains in for weeks to get rid of. He gets uncomfortable and tightness on his scar,not really pain, mainly after eating. He has been told that because the surgeon had to open him up on the same sight twice it is probably just healing and that the nerves etc take a long time to heal. He sees his surgeon in two and half weeeks time and will certainly mention it to him. But meantime has anyone else had this or similar?

I too had my incision for my ileostomy cut directly over an old colectomy scar.  I am having discomfort...I am almost 5 weeks post op.  It gets a little better everyday. It's the worst around my belly button.  I use a heating pad at night.  That seems to be helping.  I can relate to what you are describing.  Good luck.
