Weight loss with ileostomy and reversal

I can't speak for others, but I was 200 when I went into the hospital and had the emergency subtotal colectomy.  I dropped down to 172 pounds and after all the surgeries I am hovering around 178 - 180.  I eat constantly, but still maintain in that area.  Of course, this doesn't bother me as I told my surgeon, I'm looking pretty good without having to work out, but while they were cutting, why didn't they give me the 6-pack ab's instead of the three pack they gave me.  Ha ha.  phil

Hi again - I lost all my weight with the Ulcerative Colitis - around 20 pounds. Was a bit too thin when I had the emergency op and my colon removed on 15 Feb. Since I have had the ileostomy I have put it all on again, even though bag contents are fairly liquid most of the time. I have been eating pretty much what I like (including curry, salads, fruit) with the bag but will have to watch the diet again after reversal on 14 July so expect to lose a bit again. Will keep you posted!
