hey yall... i am 16y/o and i have cystic fibrosis which has caused several bowl obstructions,so that led me to have an ileostomy. i've had my ostomy for 1.5 years and next monday on the 17th i am having it reversed. I am so nervous and i was wondering if any of you can tell me how long it will talk and if i will be in much pain.

please write back as soon as possible. i am so nervous!

Hello Ashley,

My name is Shannon and I'm 30 but have had my Ileostomy since I was 28. I actually had the Colostomy first at 27 yrs. and had it for 6 months, then like you had my reversal, but unfortunately in my case it didn't work out very well and 2 months later I ended up with the Ileostomy instead. Long story short, your not alone out there being a young woman with a bag. It's hard I know and I so pray that when you get back from the hospital that everything went well and that your healthy and recovering nicely. If you ever need to talk just give a shout out. I'm new here too. Wishing you nothing but the best. :-)

thank you 4 replying to me... i had my surgery and everything went well! i am going home tomorrow! i have to follow up with my surgeon in 3 weeks. He was very suprised at how well i recovered from the surgery! i was in the intensive care unit (ICU) for a day and a half, and then i moved to a regular room. but i hope that everything is going good with you as well!

Wow Ashley,

That is just fabulous news! I am soo glad that everything went well for you, and am just happy to know that your on your way to being 100% healthy again, plus Ileostomy-free. Congrats & God Bless

I just wanted to say how great I think it is that your reversal went well.  I pray that things will just continue to get better and better for you!  You sound like a really positive person, and your good news just made me smile!

hey u!!! im steph im 15 years old!! ive just been discharged from hospital . i was in for 6 months nd had 6 bowel operations one was my reversal of my iliostomy . at first i thought this was never ending but now im on the road to recovery and im just glad to be hear if anyone fancy's chattin about they're expieriance give me an email [email protected]
