having a total colectomy in 11 days and scared

Can someone help me with a few questions~I have has colonic inertia for years and am also having a rectal prolapse! I am 45 and a very active person and hope this will help me have a better quality of life! What kind of foods can I eat! How long will my stomach be puffy! My scar should be from my pelvic bone to belly button! I had a hysterectomy last year! Is this surgery harder? I look forward to talking to someone! The Dr. will connect the small intestine to the rectum! How long does take to have your first potty experience ! Tks lam

I have a j-pouch due to chronic UC.  I lost my entire colon and rectum.  Recovery is long, about a year but I was able to resume most activities within 3 weeks of surgery.  I eat everything, I mostly live on fresh fruits and vegetables but there are no foods I avoid due to my different plumbing.  I have not had a hysterectomy so I cannot compare the experiences.  My abdomen was lopsided for about a year but it did even out eventually.
