Ileostomy Question...is this normal?? PLZ Respond

My son Tyler who is 17 has an ileostomy (temporary) until May for reconnection and a possible resection done. Lately Tyler has told me he is having output through his bottom, mucus stuff but he also what he says looks like bile.....I know mucus we were told is expected but BILE??

Hey Tyler's Mom, I am not sure about the bile, is he sure that is what it is?? Mucus is pretty normal, but he should tell his doctor about it and see what they think. It probably isn't anything to worry about.

I had alot of mucos... 2 times a day or so.... had reversla.. Im doing fine... I had alot of wierd spasms with the ileostmy as well... Hope your sone is doing well - im sure he will do great

I'm not too sure of what the difference between mucus and bile is, but I occasionally get blood. Only just found out that thats because I still have some Crohnes in my rectum. I didn't know that I did...
