I just changed my wafer, had a leak, and the area around my stoma, about
3/4 inch dia is quite red. There does not seem to be any eruptions, just the color. Is this something I should be concerned about
?

As long as it's better by the next time you change your flange, it's okay. I would change my flange sooner next time, or make sure the size of your stoma hasn't changed, it may be leaking. This is why I use the no-sting barrier wipes, they clean the area, protect the area, and there's no alcohol, no pain.
