Hi all, Has anyone had there galblader removed. If so how has it affected you routine. confused I was admitted into the hospital due to pains in my side. Works out the blood work showed that my liver & pancrise were inflamed,could have been from some types of stones confused I had a CT Scan today and go for a Altra sound tomorrow.The doctor said that I would require the galblaber to be removed at some stage.I have the tme to do it now,so i'd want the operation out of the way fast. Thanks for reading and any advise you have

I still have my gallbladder, but just wanted to wish you good luck if you go ahead with it :)

Hi Johnny, I have had my gallbladder removed in nov.06 had total of 26 stones some large some small.Nine weeks after surgery I developed 2 very large abcesses in my abdomin that had to be drained one was 1700 cc of infection the other was 750cc,I had two drains one for a week the other for three weeks,after the second one had been removed ,it returned a week later but I found it in time so cipro and flagl cleared it up in 4 weeks time.Since then I have had no more problems.

Hi Sosueme,how is the out put now.Do you find that you now have to empty the appliance more often,is the waste alot more runny.I'm told that stones can reoccure,did they explain how these stones can be prevented from developing again.I have an appointmennt on Wednesday with the surgeon.I have a list of questions to clear up. Thanks for your reply

Hi Johnny, I really haven't noticed any differance in out put same as before ,except maybe a little more bile in the morning more tint of green most likely from bile mixing in .As for waste being more watery, mine waste is always watery so i haven't noticed any change there either. As far as reoccuring stones I thought once your gallbadder is removed there would be no more problems..Ask your surgeon if you are to have lap surgery or open surgery , mine was open because of all the previous surgeries (to much scar tissue) lap. surgery has a shorter recovery time. Good luck with your appointment on weds, any more questions you have i will try to help you out .

Hi All, I'm penciled in for Sept 13. Man, 5 weeks away. I want this over and done wih fast. I ave also placed my name on a stand-by list incase there's a cancellation.It's something that reqired doing as the gallbladder had inflamed the liver & pancres. I'll keep ya all posted.
