I have recently started using the drainable mini bags with my two piece Hollister appliance for daytime wear and I love the size. The only problem is that I have very watery output and it leaks through the filter even though I use the stickers over it. Any suggestions? I haven't seen the minibags available without filters which I get in the "regular" sized ones.

I've never been able to use the filters because of leakage. I would call Hollister and ask a rep if they're available.

I always wear the Hollister mini (which only comes with filters) and I have never had any leakage. However, my stool rarely ever touches the filter. Have you tried the closed-in mini pouch? I like this one better, the only down part is that you have to empty the bag through the big hole.

I have too much output to use the closed in kind even though I have a colostomy. Amey, it seems like we should combine our "habits" and we would both be better off!

I would contact Hollister about it and see what they suggest.
I haven't had any luck with any brands filtered pouches. For me they clog within 1 day. So I use the 2 piece short bags from convatec and go outside and burp alot. Or do it inside if I am feeling naughty,,,, oops hope santa didn't hear that one.

you might have soem faulty bags, i have had that happen. If you call hollister they will replace them
I burp mine that way too, and i have heard people say that it makes a mess doing that, and i have never had any problem, but the other night i stepped in the batrhoom to do it, and stuff went everywhere! it was so nasty!

i use the hollister mini drainable w/filter 99% of the time and often have liquid output. i've never had any leakage through the filter?? i wake up every morning full of liquid and no probs? i think you've got a defective batch or something! the filter should get plugged from the liquid, but not let the liquid through

Thanks everyone! I will call Hollister ... This has happened 4 times in a row. At least it was nothing major and wasn't visably noticable in public... I always wear a tight undershirt to "hold me in" and it got to that before my putter wear!

yeah it sounds like you got a bad batch of bags.

I have had the same problems and it is not the bag. Some of us are just lucky this way, LOL

I use duct tape. I cut off a piece and stick it over the filter and no more leaking problems at all. We just need to get creative because my bags, Coloplast Sen-Sura, does not come without a filter. May this work for you.

I hate to waste stuff so I tried the duct tape thing. Yep. It worked! I did get replacements, but haven't tried it yet.

Ok. It wasn't the bags that were faulty. It's still leaking through the filter. This SUCKS. I am really really tiny and a regular bag CONSUMES me. A mini bag is perfect. So I go to the rustling big bag that hangs to my knees again. This SUCKS! Why don't I feel grateful like most of you? I am hitting depression ....

yea it seems none of the companies make exactly what one wants, eh. i actually like coloplast bags better, but their flanges don't work for me, but there's nothin' i can do about it! ((shrugs)) how tall are you? i wear a hollister mini and think it's still too big

I know it can be tough sometimes, but you need to cheer up! go walk your new puppy! she is so adorable. When I am having a bad day, I just go home and hang out alone with Marley, and all is well....

Lately my stoma has been seeping from the bottom end a bit, and causing the moldable convatec two-piece system I have been loving to leak prematurely. The other night I had to change my whole system like three times in one night, while I had 14 people over in my tiny apartment (poker game). It was driving me insane and of course screwed up my poker focus....i was 2nd out for the first time in months! Not to mention each two-piece system costs me like $4!

However, I switched to another type of appliance temporarily (i have a gazillion samples of all kinds of pouches and flanges) and now I am back in business. It's up and down, this life, no question about it!

Ha! Well, I found a simple solution FINALLY - DUH! And it's a lot more attractive (as if this could EVER be attractive) ... put the filter sticker on the INSIDE of the bag over the filter! No leaks! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL...Does the filter stay put even after you poop? Wouldn't the liquid from your stool affect the sticker?

Day 5 and still no leaks, but it's changing day for me just because it's getting itchy! That's pretty normal for me - 4 to five days....
