Ugh. Ugh. UGH.

For a few weeks I was getting two-three days at least. Now I'm back to leaking evey day. ARRRGH. Again, it isn't like stool is leaking -it's just goo from the darn sore. This thing is SERIOUSLY bugging me!!!!! It doesn't hurt or anything, but I am SICK of changing every darn day. The Doctors keep saying it's just a recurring ulcer and they can't do anything about it.  I don't know what to do!

On another note, those sure seals are saving my life!!! This leak started at 7 AM and it's 4:15 and they are holding strong. I can see that my wafer is soaked through, but the seals are just fine. I got through my entire workday, so I can home and change - otherwise I would have been changing here at work, which I don't like doing at all!

I was having such a problem a couple of months ago with leaking - same thing you're going through. Are you using a light convexity at least? I found this to be a life-saver.

I keep getting these leaks because I have a weepy sore right by my stoma. It doesn't heal, it just stays there, getting all gooey, then that leaks through the wafer. I've been to the doc several time, they even biopsied it. So far they say it's just a sore. :(

Mary - I do use a convex wafer, which helped a little, for awhile, but I'm back to leaking!

sfgaintsjo, hi ....Just reading your post and about your sore spot......I'm thinking I know this ....I see your surgery was in aug of last year. Ok going way back here I had the same thing a sore on the right side of my stoma, it was like a abcess, you cover it over it would build pressure and ooze soaking the wafer , changing appliance every day . After a few monthes of this , (I started cutting my wafer so it was not covering the sore) as it turned out to be , a black interial stich from the first surgery had worked it's way to the surface, after that the sore healed and I now have a dip by my stoma but that is something that could be happening to you , just a thought , so hope you find out what the problem is.This happened so long ago I just forgot or I would have posted sooner.
