I am having my ileostmy reversed next week. My doctor's office tells me that there is no prep involved, just no eating or drinking after midnight. Shouldn't I be only having liquids for a day or two?How does the doctor do the surgery if there is still stuff in your small intestine? I got an infection after my sigmoidectomy ...no prep for that either.

No, this is the same prep I had for my reversal surgery. Remember, all the surgeon is doing is closing your temp ostomy from the outside, the surgery is not invasive.
