Hey everyone,

I just ordered my first batch of minis, and I love them!! I can't believe it has taken me two years to finally discover them. Since I don't have much output during the day, I'm going to use the minis during the day and the maxis overnight, when my output is the most.

 

Have any of you ever tried the minis? Do you like them, too? I'd love to hear your feedback!

*sigh* I am most envious of those of you with very little output!! My little friend is quite active ALL THE TIME!!! I would love to be able to use mini bags! Lucky girl!!!

You should've seen me this morning, running around the house, with nothing on but my mini, telling my husband how much I like it. He looked at me and said, "I don't even see it."

I guess he was distracted... eyes

lol! cecelia ur hillarious! i'm jealous as well...wish i could do that...i havent even worked up the courage to try! i have a hollister sample around here somewhere. What kind do u have? u can't drain those right? u have to just thro them out when theyr full?

Praying, they're from Coloplast and are drainable. :-)

Hi Cece.........It's almost 5 months with my colostomy and using Convatec's Esteem Synergy line thinking I just had to keep an eye on OPIE and rinse my pouch at every little mess but that got old about 2 weeks ago when I realized the disposables lay flatter, feel better and I really don't notice a OPIE's crumbs all that much....but if he happens to get real frisky, I just take off the pouch, dispose of it, wipe his nose  and put another one on.........sooooooo much simpler than fooling with the draining and the worry of having to when out and about..I do have a couple of the minis and am sure they'll be fine,too, during the day....but like you, will wear the reg. at night to greet the shakers and the movers in the morning! yeah

Well, I made it through the night, but the little bag was puffed up to maximum capacity.
It could have been disastrous, so I don't think I'll do that again. nono

i just called convatec and asked for a mini sample and they told me that mini's are not compatible with ileostomy output b/c the liquid input will leak thru the pouch :O(

Ash, I just checked and my minis do have filters.

Praying, you could also call them again and ask for some mini samples. You can tell them that you have couple of friends with ileostomies who recommended them. How can they argue with that?

Praying-I have an ilestomy and Hollister sent me a sample of a mini. I haven't used it yet but it looks pretty cool if it works. I also talked with them yesterday again and told them how excited I was about the mini and he is sending me a couple more samples. I agree............call hollister and just give a mini a try.

I love them! And the Convetec Esteem Synergy is just perfect for me. I use them all the time,even when I get diarrhea,I can count on them sticking. I like the idea of a fresh clean pouch every change. Never did like that draining thing,especially thinking of doing it in a public restroom.Take the soiled pouch off,and slap on a new clean one. Takes much less time than draining.Thumbs up for me on this product.

that guy really scarred me, im going to ask for the samples, but it hink im too afraid to try them after he said they'll seep thru. I'm getting ready to go back to work, so now its not even like i'll be home in case it happens. i'm happy and envious at the same time! lol

Get em WITHOUT filters! Mine don't have filters,I hate those things. I swear you can smell thru them. I have never had one leak while I am sleeping. And no hard plastic rings you have to snap or lock on,you can barely see them thru clothes,and I wear riding breetches. They are tight pants! I do have to burp them ,depending on what I have eaten,I just go in the bathroom and do it. Yesterday my surgeon commented on my pouches,asking me what company make them and the wafer. He also liked the fact that there is no pushing on the pouch to make it adhere,and that they were opaque,and putting them on was easy.I love my Convetec!

thanx scrappy, so far convatec is the only brand i've used, i do have the hollister samples somewhere around here. mayb when i call back i'll get somebody who's nicer and won't freak me out as much. So the ones u have are drainable as well? u said u can burp them
