irrigation

Hi all,

I have had my ostomy since 2/14/08. My doc told me I could do irrigation today because in June I am taking a ride to Florida and don't want to worry about bathroom stops. I go next Friday to learn how to do this and I am a little nervous. If anyone has any hints or encourageing words for me it would be nice. Thank you,

i don't know anything abotu it personally, i have an ileo but i have read alot of posts from people who do it and they are very happy with it! good luck and have a fun trip

I know quite a few people who irrigate and are extremely happy with it. For an outline on irrigation, have a look at http://www.ostomates.org/irrigation.html

It was written by a friend of mine who irrigated for years (sadly now he's passed on) and gives a pretty good idea on what to expect and lots of pointers.
