Hi Eveyone, I know I don't get on this site as much as I should, but I will try to do better.I had my colostomy surgery two years ago this coming June 9th.I am not one bit sorry for having it done or made it a pernament one.The past year and a half have been heaven for me.It took me a little while to get used to it,expecially when it came to going out in public.I was told that it would change my life, and it did,for the better.
It took my husband about six months to except me with it,but two years ago Christmas eve,he came around and we started having sex again and have been ever since.I did not think that he would ever except me again, with a bag attached to my stomcah for the rest of my life.
Now I have just one problem.I have lost twelve pounds, because I want to loose weight on my own and for myself, but how do I get the left side of my stomach, where the colostomy is to go down as well? That is one of the biggest problems I am having.I want to spend a lot of time at the pool this year and I don't want my stomach uneven.I have even been doing excerises to try and flatten my stomach, but nothering seems to be helping. What am I doing wrong?
I have been reading the stories on this site, even though I do not reply,or start a new subject. There are some great stories on this site and even I have learned a lot from just reading them. This is a great site to go to for information before you have any Ostomy surgery done. This is where I started out two year ago.Shaz and a couple of other people were a big help to me,and calmed me down a lot before my surgery.Good luck to all of you that are thinking of having one done.
