I came to this board to find answers as to why everything is going through me so fast; bowel movements 7 or 8 times a day and I am not eating all that much. My doctor did not apprise me of diet problems after the reversal. Told me regular diet is ok. So, I see lots of people have found marshmellows and Imodium to be of help, so I am going to try that. I am at least glad to see that how I am reacting post surgery is common. Yeh, I dont seem to have much warning in advance that I have to have a BM, so going places is going to be difficult for a while until I get this under control. and oh, my rectum is so sore!!! so I am glad I found this site and some advice. I have Kaiser Permanente and have my first check up on June 19, a month from the surgery.
oh, by the way, my reversal surgery went well until the 7th day, when I contracted a very bad bacteria called C-diff and I began to have diarrea every 10 to 20 minutes, like water, around the clock, so i had to return to the hospital and stay there under quarantine as it was very contagious. It was a horrible infection, that took a week of antibiotics to get over and days of diarrea around the clock, and no sleep. It was a nightmare.
Now, I am having tummy aches before each BM and generally uncomfortable most of the time and running to the pot. Lots of small size stools, about every hour. Gotta get this under control!!!
