Carbs are good and safe to eat, ie pastas - just about anything on them would work; also rice, casseroles with pasta or rice and meat and a few veggies. Breads are ok, with peanut butter for extra protein and calories. I've battled keeping weight on for 24 years. You are right, spicy and high fat equals high output usually.
