i come home to find a letter from my GI, i open it and this is what it says

It is time to schedule your colonoscopy, please call our office. If a referall is needed please obtain piror to procedure.  If you  have already scheduled your appointment please disregard this letter

LOL!!! i told my husband they could look at it if they wanted to dig through the trash at the hosptial.

Are you sure it wasn't to view your small intestine? What would they even call that, anyway???

But your question kinda reminds me of the nurse when I go in for Remicade. She always has a list of questions when I'm done and can't seem to remember that I have an ileostomy. So, the last time I was there and she asked me "how many bowel movements did I had today". I replied with "should I count the one I'm having at this very moment"!!!

Once a new doctor asked me how long it was since I'd had a colonoscopy. I replied 'oh, about 25 years'. He said 'well I think it's about time we scheduled one for you, don't you?' I said 'sure, if you can find it, but there ain't nothing going in or out of my backside'. He looked startled for a minute until I explained why.

Ya know -- I'd think that a notation in the front of the patient's file in red print might be enough to draw the doctors and nurses attention to it. But that would be tooo easy. I've been to the same walk in clinic 3 times now in the past year and since they use the same file, you'd think theyd have that "pertinent" information pasted to the front cover. IMO.
