Cat Scan this Thursday

Hi y'all...having my cat scan this Thursday to det if I can have my ileostomy reversed or not!!I am so happy (but nervous)....I called hospital and it seems I don't have to take any redi-cat at all...YIPPEE!!  ...Cheryl :-)

What are they looking for on the scan to determine whether or not you can be reversed? Just curious.

Apparently they want to see if there are no leaks (??)

Cheryl, I just want to wish you good luck tomorrow with your CT scan. I hope all goes well; in fact I know it will! I will be keeping you in my prayers. Let us know what you find out!!

Thanks for the good wishes....today is the day!  I have to wait for a week (next appt with surgeon) for my results. I'm trying not to think about it...but it's kinda like the elephant in the room.. smilewinkgrin I am trying to psyche myself into believing that it will be ok if I cant be reversed.  I feel so well now with the ileostomy, but...wouldn't it be nice if I didn't have this little pouch??.... and it goes on and on....I'm trying to just stay in today!!  ARRRRGGGHHHH!!!..Thanks for letting me vent!...Cheryl

How did it go? I know you won't have the results for a week, but I know you were worried about the actual test. Was it comfortable for you?

Yes I didn't mind it at all....I didn't have to have any type of contrast though, so I don't kow how they can tell if there are no leaks???  The last time I had one, I had an iv contrast plus a rectal contrast...nada this time...weird huh?

I don't know if they can tell or not. I can say that I had contrast each time. That is sort of strange, I would ask about it next week when you go back for your results. Aren't you just glad it's over with? Now one more week and we'll have the answer we've been waiting for! I can't wait, I just know it will be good news. You'll be free of that pouch before you know it!!
