Ok girls,
I haven't menstruated since mid Nov. I was due to start the week after my total colectomy, but haven't.
I'm not pregnant. I am worried. What if that stuff (ovaries, uterus, fallopian tubes) got messed up with the emergency surgery? Maybe b/c of adhesions and/or scar tissue?
I know my body has been through a lot (2 surgeries a week apart and a blood clot) but now I'm all worried that I won't be able to get a period again and then not be able to get pregnant.
Did anyone else have a delayed period b/c of surgery (s)? How long b4 things got back to normal?

Don't worry, that's normal. I would always miss a couple of periods after surgery, and then it would come back and be regular again.

That has happened to me too...our bodies respond to the "trauma" by protecting themselves in different ways. If you are really worried, give your Ob/Gyn a call...they won't mind the call!!!

Thanks girls! I feel better knowing you experienced a delay too.

don't worry, i missed it for a while, and actually, after my surgery, mine got lighter and shorter, which was a relief to me

I wish mine would get lighter, but since I got that blood clot and now I'm on warfarin (blood thinner), I've been told it could be heavier and longer and more painful - so excited
I just want to get it over with. and get back to a normal cycle.

After the trauma that my body went through my Dr`s thought that I had went in to early menopause.I went 7 months without one but then it showed up and unlike you I did not want it back.So do not worry it will come back.
