changing doctors

I am having a different doctor do my reattachment surgery, than the one that did the original surgery. how do I tell the original one, that I want someone else to do the surgery? Also, I am wanting to have it done at a hospital that is out of network for my insurance. The new doctor, goes to both hospitals, but he doesn't like the one where I originally had my surgery as well as the one where he wants me to have my surgery. I'm willing to go to the hospital where he wants to do the surgery, but the whole insurance thing is the big problem now. I've already got a huge bill at the hospital where he wants me to have the surgery. I go to there wound care center, and it is out of network. The in network wound care center, well lets just say they are ok, if you have a "normal" ostomy, but if you have problems, you need to find somewhere else.

does anyone have any suggestions??

I don't know if I can upgrade during open enrollment, and that doesn't come around again until December. :( I don't want to wait until then, to get the surgery done. I think it's the insurance plan. I need to investigate more.

I've worked at both hospitals, and frankly if we can work out the insurance issues, would jump at the chance to have it at the hospital where he wants me to have surgery. I will talk to him before I make the decision. From what i've seen of him, he's going to be willing to work out something with me. I only even know about this, because my wound care nurse told me. She is someone I trust implicitly. I don't think she told me this, to try to get me to change hospitals, I think she did it with my health in mind.

This is probably going to end up in court anyway. I will be talking to him, and we'll work out something. I think he is the type of guy who will work something out with me. I don't forsee him being the problem, I see the hospital being the problem. ::sigh:: Thanks for any and all suggestions!!
