Made my first purchase with Edgepark - is it my emotional state or

are they somewhat "abrupt" in their assistance.  I even did it online and got an error message when the order was processed - and the message said to call the online help desk.  So I did, and this lady was not very pleasant - saying there is something wrong with my computer, my email account, AOL server - anything but her computer system.  And she said that she thinks that the order will go through - and wait for a shipping notification in the next day to make sure.

I know I am not myself, and things like this don't usually bother me any more, but I was a new customer - obviously going through a major life change - and I was treated like I was bothering them?

My wife told me to not sweat the small stuff, and of course she is right.  I am both surprised by them - and me.

Any thoughts out there?

We only ordered from Byram. I did talk to Edgepark and even set up an account but they didn't seem very helpful to me. I found the whole process of trying to figure out what the different items were and what they were used for overwhelming. Then to try to understand sizing (especially since your stoma will shrink) almost put me over the edge (and I wasn't the one who had the surgery).

Again, accept the fact that this is not your normal reaction to things. Your senses (and sensitivity) are heightened. Rather than fight it, embrace it for the moment. At this time, it's not worth making yourself more frustrated trying to act "normal".

I just recently set up my account with Edgepark and knew from others that they can be really abrupt with folks on the phone. I pretty much took control of the conversation and just let them know that I wouldn't settle for their crap. I actually got hold of a really knowledgeable rep and was treated pretty well. You can always ask to speak to their supervisor... even if it ends up being just a coworker, maybe you will get one with a better bedside manner!

Try to blow it off... your emotions are whacked out right now. For good reasons too.

I know many people have had problems with them, but for whatever reason, they have always been more than helpful with me...even when I needed saline and 2x2's next day!!

Don't let it bother you right now...but don't let them get away with it in the future!!

Edgepark is the only place I have used but when I was changing bags 3 times a day... and I kept switching brands, they have been sooo helpful. Im sorry you had a rough time with them. Hopefully it gets better.

I used Edgepark for almost 20 years....and they still treated me like dirt! I switched to these guys about 5 months ago, and even started a thread about them https://www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=33&m=1296647.

Edgepark will never again see another dime of my money!  At times I was on hold for 30 minutes; they NEVER sent any of the samples I asked for; and they were getting way too expensive!

Hey VG,

Are you still happy with the ostomy supply place you posted that link about?  I just reread that post as well.  Still getting good service?  Still receiving return calls promptly?  Customer service...??  I'm just waiting for Edgepark to screw up with me.  So far, so good.  Though they did mess up my first order - on ostomy deodorant drops.  When I called them to be sure that they "realized" what they did, they were most accommodating and apologetic.  I told them I would try them, but I still may return the unopened bottles if I didn't like them and they were fine with that and would send me a shipping label and all.

I would like your input on this other company.  I might try them out next time I have to order.

I wonder if our calls might be going to different areas. Edgepark has been good with me. It probably would have put me over the edge if I had to deal with crappy people too. Wow, it just goes to show how different people can be.

I have been VERY happy with them since I stopped using Edgepark.  In fact, I ordered some supplies today, including the spray-on adhesive someone mentioned in another thread. I'll be getting my supplies tomorrow, and saving a lot of money compared to Edgepark to boot!!!!

yes...the money seems to be a lot different. Can you get the same items like I am using coloplast. Also do they also go through ur insurance. I know some discounted places do not.

Yeah, I have had nothing but great service from Edgepark. In fact, I was on a 4 day retreat and brought a brand new box of supplies with me. I leaked through EVERY single one of them, ending up at a hospital on my way home to get a new appliance (I leaked through my last one 4 hours away from home with a VERY good friend). Anyway, I called when I got home and they were WONDERFUL to replace them (just a bad box I guess) and actually did a follow up call to make sure my new ones were working ok! Most of the time I just go on line and order so I don't speak to them often.
