Hi Allison,
Welcome to our forum. If you're ready to have surgery, I would ask the doctor if he or she can do it laproscopically, for a pain pump after surgery, for a private room in the hospital, and for an Ostomy Nurse to meet with you before surgery to mark the stoma site and after surgery to show you how to change the wafer/appliance.
Good luck with your appointment, and let us know how it goes! If you have any questions about what it's like to be Crohn's-free and have a permanent ileostomy, please feel free to ask.
P.S. - it's all good!
